Wallis Sands State Beach
Rye, NH

The jewel of NH's small coastline, Wallis Sands is a very popular family beach, set back from the main road parking area. The site includes one small store on the beach, but no boardwalk. There are lifeguards in season, a bathhouse and showers. From the North side visitors can look down on the beach from a rocky hill with views of the ocean, the Isles of Shoals and the winding Route 1A with large homes and camps. Arrive early, since the lot fills up. Visitors may arrive via the Seacoast Trolley that makes hourly stops from Market Square in Portsmouth.

HOURS: Offically open Mid-May to Labor Day
WEBSITE: http://www.nhstateparks.com/wallis.html
ADMISSION: $5 per can weekdays, $8 weekends
PHONE: (603) 436-9404
ADDRESS: Route 1A Rye, NH 03802
DIRECTIONS: Accessible via the "back route" from Rye center and from Route 1, but the scenic drive douwn winding Route 1A from Portsmouth is worth the trip.
