Warner House

Called the finest brick residence in New England from the first quarter of the 18th century. The Warner House, built for a wealthy ship owner in 1716, the Warner House contains the oldest Colonial wall painting still in place in New England. This fine brick structure was once home to NH's Royal British Governor Benning Wentworth. The house was built for Archibald Macpheadris for his marriage to Sarah Wentworth, daughter of NH Lietenant Gov. John Wentworth. It was among the first buildings in American dedicated as a National Historic Landmark. Check the web site or call for a full seasonal program of workshops, lectures and other public events.
