Kennebunk Plains

J. Dennis Robinson.
A rare scene indeed, a grassland in Maine. It looks downright prehistoric, and is, cuased by a glacial movement that affected the soil. Thanksfully this unique area has been preserved along the Mousam River. The Plains make a great walking spot, dogs are allowed, and so is blueberry picking in season. The area is the only site of the rare blacing star that was in bloom when we took the above photo. Check our detailed photo gallery and links. The region has been saved and is maintained by the Nature Concervancy.
