One of New Hampshire’s oldest surviving cemeteries, this cemetery includes early Northam Colonists from the 1600s – although most of the earliest stones are buried or gone. Dover claims its founding at nearby Hilton Point (aka Bloody Point) as early as 1623 and explorers sailed up to Great Bay as early as 1603. This was the original site of the first town. Key names include Bickford, Card, Clement, Coleman, Dudley, Fernald, Henderson, Jones, Nason, Robets, Shaw, Trippe. See A Very Grave Matter (below) for photos of 26 head stones.
