Live American buffalo grazing in New Hampshire! We recommend you bring binoculars and a camera. American buffalo are wild, unpredictable animals and can be extremely dangerous when provoked, for that reason they are not touchable or pet-able animals. Spring is the calving season. Summer is when the aggressive breeding season takes place. Fall is awash with beautiful New England foliage. The farm raises animals for meat, but provides scenic and educational tours. Little Bay Buffalo Company was established in 1986 by the introduction of a herd of American bison (buffalo) to a family estate in Durham. The views of Little Bay (part of the Great Bay Estuary) and rolling landscape interspersed with groves of trees, makes one of the most beautiful of the remaining open spaces in the seacoast region of New Hampshire.
