Kittery Point Cemetery

This scenic burying ground opens to a fascinating view toward the Newcastle, NH across the Piscataqua. It is located on the winding Kittery Point road across from the First Congregational Church and the Lady Pepperrell mansion. Includes the Thaxter family (poet Celia Thaxter's husband and sons) with an insciption of a poem by Robert Browning and the memorial to casualties in the wreck of the ship Hattie Eaton in 1876.
