Goat Island Saltwater Boat Launch

A rare public access point in New Castle, just outside of Portsmouth, NH. Small dirt parking area along New Castle road with small cartop boat launch area and access for saltwater anglers. A lovely area within sight of the distant back of the Wentworth Hotel and the Portsmouth Naval Prison. Mild tidal inlet with small islands. This public access is a cooperative access Coastal Conservation Association, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Sport Fish Restoration Project and the NH Fish and Game Dept. Fishers should stay up to date on NH fishing regulations.

DIRECTIONS: From Portsmouth's South end take Route 1B to Newcastlem cross the first bridge onto the former island and loof for pullover stop with sign across from Kittery Point Yacht Club
