In the year 1876 Deerfield was a thriving farming community recently bypassed by the railroad and not chosen for state capital of New Hampshire. Instead, the Deerfield Fair was born, and continues today and one of the premiere events in the Seacoast region. Today’s four day September fair includes midway, 4-H and grange exhibits and events, animal events, horse shows, cattle, horese and oxen pulls, kid’s entertainment, sheep dog demos, crafts and food, woodman’s demo and much more.
